DLCC: Our vocational training center
While Bali is celebrated as an island paradise, the reality for many, particularly in villages like Desa Les, is one of hardship. Poverty here severely limits access to education and opportunities, leaving countless children and young people struggling. The Amisewaka – Desa Les Community Center (“DLCC”) offers a vital lifeline, providing vocational and life skills training to empower these individuals and help them build a brighter future for themselves, their families, and their community.
DLCC offers professional hands-on culinary and hospitality training. Our state-of-the-art facilities include a five-star kitchen and a 30-seater restaurant, providing a real-world learning environment where students master the latest culinary and service techniques. With an emphasis on the use of local ingredients in both traditional and innovative dishes, students learn from industry experts, including guest chefs from the island’s renowned restaurants, under the guidance of our experienced culinary instructors.
We offer two distinct qualifications: Culinary Arts and Food and Beverage Services. Students choose one major, with the other subject becoming their minor. Food and Beverage Service (Wait Service), is designed to equip students with professional food and beverage service skills. This program focuses on training students in proper serving techniques and food presentation following hospitality industry standards.
We aim to enable them to acquire skills that will provide employment opportunities in the dynamic tourism profession, effectively increasing their economic independence and improving the living conditions for them and their families. We are proud to say that well over 90% of our student graduates so far have obtained gainful employment, something that we continue to look to improve on, as well as working towards enabling even more young people to join our program.
Realizing our ambitious goals requires a collective effort, and we deeply value the networks and relationships that enable us to pool resources and maximize our impact. You can join us in making a difference in the lives of young people by donating at
