Planting trees for a healthier South Africa

The Trees for Schools program launched in March 2024, and aims to combat malnutrition and promote food security by planting 1,000 fruit trees in schools across the Eastern Cape in South Africa. In recent years, the Eastern Cape has witnessed a concerning increase in malnutrition cases, with over 116 child deaths and 15,000 reported cases in 2023 alone. Our initial efforts have already resulted in the planting of trees across three schools: Joe Slovo Primary School, Esitiyeni Higher Primary School, and Emafini Primary School, located in Gqeberha.

Through this program and other ACF projects, like the Amisewaka – Desa Les Community Center and the Tuma mi Man daycare center, the foundation seeks to bring hope and sustainable transformation to communities.
