Refining Plans, Refining Priorities

We have been quiet, but the roots have been growing

If it has felt a little quiet from the Amicorp Community Foundation recently, you are not wrong. January was intentionally a quieter month for us. But silence does not always mean stillness.

Sometimes the most important work happens underground, out of sight. Like roots spreading beneath the soil, strengthening and interweaving before anything appears above the surface. While the past year at ACF has been one of steady momentum and delivery, January offered space for deliberate focus: refining plans, aligning priorities, and ensuring that what comes next is thoughtful rather than rushed.

Behind the scenes, we used this time to sharpen strategy, align across regions, strengthen governance, and make sure that the work we do is sustainable, compliant, and meaningful in the long term. It was a period of preparation, asking the right questions, making considered decisions, and ensuring that when we move forward, we do so with clarity and intention.

A global fundraising focus: Building the DLCC student hostel

One of the most significant collective efforts ahead for ACF is our global fundraising initiative in support of the new student hostel at the Desa Les Community Center in Bali. Desa Les Community Center is a proven vocational and life-skills training program that supports young people from low- and no-income backgrounds with practical training, confidence, and pathways into employment.

As the program continues to grow, so does the need to accommodate students who live further away and would otherwise struggle to access the opportunity. The hostel build is a critical next step in enabling that growth. It will allow DLCC to reach more students, broaden access to the programs, and support the long-term sustainability of the model.

This fundraising effort will be a worldwide Amicorp collective initiative, bringing together offices, employees, clients, and partners across regions. Rather than being driven by a single office or geography, it reflects a shared commitment across the Amicorp network to invest in long-term, community-rooted impact. Strengthening impact through partnership: OpenTree in India

As part of our broader global approach, we are also pleased to introduce our partnership with the OpenTree Foundation in India. (https://opentree.org/)

Founded in 2004 and based in Mumbai, OpenTree is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering children from marginalized communities through play-based learning. Their work centers on the belief that play is not a luxury, but a fundamental pathway to learning, development, and wellbeing.

Through its Conscious Play® programs, OpenTree supports children in building critical life skills such as communication, creativity, emotional intelligence, and problem-solving. The organization works closely with schools, educators, and community partners, and reaches tens of thousands of children across India each year.

This partnership enables ACF to engage meaningfully in India through a locally grounded, credible, and deeply experienced organization, while also supporting compliant CSR engagement for Indian corporates. It reflects our commitment to partnerships that are rooted in trust, impact, and long-term vision.

People • Planet • Purpose

Everything we do at ACF is guided by the lens of People • Planet • Purpose.

People, because lasting impact begins with dignity, access, and opportunity.
Planet, because environmental responsibility underpins long-term human wellbeing.
Purpose, because philanthropy should be intentional, accountable, and aligned with values.

As we move into the year ahead, our focus is not simply on doing more, but on doing what matters: building initiatives that respond to real needs, are designed for longevity, and are strengthened through collaboration.

A Personal Reflection

This period also marks my first full year with ACF, and it feels like a meaningful moment to reflect.

“This past year has been about listening, learning, and laying foundations. We have taken the time to ask not just what we want to do, but why, and how we do it well. The year ahead feels aspirational not because it will be easy, but because we are ready. Ready to act with clarity, intention, and collective purpose.”

There is a quiet confidence that comes from knowing the groundwork has been done. The year ahead is about momentum, visibility, and shared impact.

The roots are strong. The direction is clear. And the year ahead holds real promise.
